Hospitality for Hope

COVID-19 has devastated the hotel industry from an economic standpoint, but it has not extinguished the hospitality that is shining brightly within hotels across the country. Quiet rays of hope and healing can be found inside the Staybridge Suites Wilmington-Brandywine Valley. In partnership with American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA), the Hotel has joined the fight, providing accommodations to those most in need. Through AHLA’s new initiative – Hospitality for Hope,” the hotel has registered within the system to provide temporary housing for emergency and healthcare workers as the COVID-19 public health crisis grows.

Stephen Field, President of Synergy Hospitality Management, the management company for the hotel states “this has hit us all so deeply and so close to home.” “Our Hotels are demonstrating the best of us all, providing a helping hand to our communities in this time of need. As we continue to face this unprecedented public health emergency, we are doing what we can to give back to frontline healthcare workers, first responders and essential workers who continue to work around the clock to protect our community” continues Field. “Keeping our doors open is what we do best, our guests can rest easy knowing they have an alternative place to stay.”

The demands on healthcare facilities, medical staff, first responders and community workers continue to be overwhelming. In addition to the participation in the Hospitality for Hope initiative, we are also focused on local market outreach. We are here to offer additional beds for patients to recover or to self-quarantine in a safe environment.

The Staybridge Suites Wilmington-Brandywine Valley has been diligent in cleaning and maintenance protocols in alignment with CDC guidelines and with support from brand partners with IHG. Within our walls, we offer quiet and peaceful spaces for those on the front lines that need to protect their family from undue stress, or to simply find a few hours of respite amidst the fight against the virus. “We are dedicated to providing a rigorously clean hotel for our guests and our team members,” states Chris Bryant, General Manager for the Hotel.
