General Manager rappels down Holiday Inn building
Frank Rivera, General Manager, Holiday Inn Lancaster midway through his inaugural rappel.

Every day the Holiday Inn Lancaster welcomes guests through its doors, you might even say that we are experts at it. But what if we told you that last Friday, we focused our attention to visitors rappelling off the side of our building? We would confirm for you that sure enough more than 80 brave participants rappelled down our 10-story hotel.

In partnership with VisionCorps, the Holiday Inn Lancaster and The Imperial, hosted the annual Eye Drop 2022 event. Over the Edge (OTE), a special events company, managed the exhilarating Eye Drop 2022. Participants sign up to go “over the edge” to raise money and awareness for the nonprofit. VisionCorps is a leading non-profit organization in Pennsylvania, on a mission to empower individuals who are blind or vision impaired to attain independence.

This was the first event for many of the participants, but for some this has become an annual tradition. The Holiday Inn’s own Frank Rivera, General Manager, participated in the event.

The impact of this event really sunk in well after I jumped,” said Rivera after the event. While getting ready to jump, Frank was assisted by a VisionCorps volunteer to get harnessed in, and she said  “I really want to thank you, my son is blind and we receive care and support from VisionCorps. Seeing everyone come out to do this just means the world to me, the money raised today will directly help me with resources to care for my son.”
